PETSMART IS GREAT TOO

since I am talking about my family let me let you know a little about the rest of them. My mom and dad moved away to Georgia about 3 months after nick and I got married. they were all by themselves, when lo and behold 2 years later My brother, sister in law, and my adorable nephew moved over there as well. let's jut say their nest is not empty anymore, but they love it. so now here I am all by my lonesome left here with my loving husband, and my two puppies!!! But, this gives me a great excuse to go on vacation.

I also have a great job. I am a stage manager at six flags fiesta Texas. I am over the shows in sangerfest hall. I have worked at fiesta Texas since I was 16, so this is the start of my 10th season. I started in the Games department, and that only lasted a few months. I moved over to the rides department, and was there for 2 years. I heard about auditions for fright fest, so I auditioned, and I became a Looney tune (I could tell you which one I was, but I would have to kill you!) I have ALSO BEEN A DRESSER, A PYROTECHNIC IAN, A PAYROLL CLERK, AND NOW I HAVE REALLY FOUND MY NICHE AS A STAGE MANAGER. IT IS THE BEST JOB EVER BECAUSE I GET JUST ENOUGH GUEST INTERACTION THAT THEY DON'T DRIVE ME TOO CRAZY.

Here are some pictures of fright fest. this is the last chance legends show in the zaragoza theater. the show had a lot of legends from the past like Roy Orbison, Marilyn Monroe, and of course, the king himself, Elvis.

these are my technicians working really hard during the show pulling  scenery in and out.

hey look! Elvis lives right here at fiesta Texas!!

HERE ARE SOME MORE PICTURES OF MY CAST THIS YEAR. THEY ARE REALLY GREAT, AND HAVE THE MOST INCREDIBLE VOICES. WE Have two shows in sangerfest this year. the returning show this year is Heatwave, which is Motown music, and it really appeals to our older crowds. the show for the teenagers is vintage vinyl. this is our rock show, and the kiddos go nuts! starting in the summer is the Looney tunes start their show called we got the beat. This is a great show, because it's bugs bunny and his pals singing your favorite 80's songs. This is a kids show, but the parents love it too.

nick and I have a great time doing things, and we have lots of adventures. We have been able to go to places like California, Georgia, and even Hawaii. the latter of the two we were able to go to because we have family who live there

Hawaii was incredible. we were able to go to pearl harbor which was a very emotional experience. It amazed me that there is still oil on the water when the ships have been sunk for over 60 years.

the other fun fact about Hawaii is that they eat spam (yes, the canned meat) for every meal. you can even get spam on your pizza there if you like.

we also went to a place called diamond head. which is a big piece of rock that you hike over, through, and up. the funniest part of this place was the little Asian women walking up this huge rock in their high heeled flip flops, but they made it up, and they seemed to be comfy, so to each his own. But the view from the top is breath taking. you are able to see the whole island of Oahu, and the crystal blue water that surrounds the islands.

nick and I also go and visit my mom and dad in Georgia. the first time that we were able to visit it was during christmas, so we were able to stay for two weeks. we visited places like Callaway gardens, stone mountain, and Andersonville.

Callaway gardens were beautiful during christmas. They even had a butterfly dome, which was really cool. They had seasonal plants that only grew during that time. at the end of the night they had a tour, and the entire park was covered in christmas lights. the coolest part was the part they called the changing of the seasons. when it was spring the lights hanging down were pink, summer they were yellow, fall they were orange, and for winter they were blue. The seasons changed when the fairies came down, and it was just beautiful.

click here to check out all Callaway gardens has to offer

here are some pics of Callaway.

here are nick and I at Callaway in front of some pretty bushes. don't we look cute

hey look nick's standing with frosty! DO you still call him frosty if he's made out of leaves?

this is the chapel at Callaway

all of the stained glass had flowers etched into them.

we also visited stone mountain. it is known as the mount Rushmore of the south. the three men carved into the mountain are president Jefferson Davis, General Robert e. lee, and lt. Gen. Thomas stonewall Jackson.

take a virtual visit here

one of the more sobering places that we visited was Andersonville. This was the p.o.w. camp where the south held the northern soldiers that they had captured during the war.

I learned the history of a frequently used idiom. the phrase "deadline" came from Andersonville. the story here is that there were too many men to keep confined. so they were placed in a large field, and told if they crossed the stakes that were in the ground they would be shot. thus the stakes were coined as the "deadline".

as you can see a lot of men lost their lives here. today, it is one of our national cemeteries.

I like to think that I have a pretty exciting life, and I was happy to give you a little glimpse into it.
